The roaring 20s have always been a significant era in fashion, bringing with it a wave of innovation and boldness. Fast-forward to a century later, and we find ourselves revisiting that era but with a fresh twist.
The Luar SS24 NYFW show beautifully encapsulated this blend of past and present, showcasing Frausto’s ‘Modern Edge’ hairstyles that echoed the spirit of the 2020s with an unmistakable nod to the roaring 20s.

The Inspiration
Frausto took inspiration from how he views the Luar person and said,
“The Luar person is confident. Sexy. Strong. Powerful. We are bringing an extreme modern edge by doing a 2020s take on the 1920s. This modern wet look is pulled back and sculpted – our hairstyles for this show have a duality, showing sharpness with hair spikes together with curvature in perfect circles.”

Step-by-Step Guide
- Start with a generous application of Bb. Holding Spray, section by section. Brush and sweep the hair up into a tight, snatched-high ponytail.
2. For an even stronger hold on the top, liberally apply Sumogel, reinforcing it with another layer of Holding Spray.
- Ponytail sculpting: For the ponytail leave-out, dampen the section with water. Then layer Bb. Gel with Sumogel to ensure maximum hold. Delicately sculpt sections of the ponytail into pin-curl shapes placed on the head, introducing a sense of movement to the look.

Sealing the look: Finish by spritzing Bb.Holding Spray on top to seal and enhance the lacquered look.

- Preparation is key Start with Bb. Sunday Shampoo for a deep cleanse, followed by Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Primer to hydrate and nourish.
- Everyday styling To adapt this bold look for everyday wear, opt for a snatched ponytail using Bb.Holding Spray. Twist the ponytail into a bun, securing it with Bb. Gel. For a playful touch, leave the ends out of the bun, swirling them on the back of the head, and press down. Seal everything in place with Sumogel.
