It has been years since The Grammys has had a multitude of categories filled with such phenomenal nominees, which makes choosing a winner so taxing. With returning host, Trevor Noah and performances from Billie Eilish, Miley Cyrus, Dua Lipa, Luke Combs, Burna Boy, Olivia Rodrigo, SZA, Travis Scott, U2, and the great Joni Mitchell, it’s safe to say we’re in for an exhilarating night.

SZA holds nine nominations, making her the most nominated artist of the night, followed by Phoebe Bridgers and Victoria Monet with seven, and then Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, John Batist, and John Antinoff with six. This is also an excellent year for women in this industry, having most of the categories with at least one female nominee.

The battle for Album of the Year will be one duked out between Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo and SZA. While Taylor Swift may have had the year of her career with the concert of a lifetime that is The Eras Tour, Olivia Rodrigo’s exponential growth since her freshman album SOUR cannot be denied. Olivia takes after Taylor in a way that she can easily morph into different genres, as she was even nominated for Best Rock Song of the Year with her song “Ballad of a Homeschool Kid.” If Taylor takes this award home, this will be her 3rd win in this category, setting a record for most Album of the Year awards won.

Olivia Rodrigo

Record of the Year is for a song that has held its ground ALL year, one that people still remember. While Flowers by Miley Cyrus and Vampire by Olivia Rodrigo are all top contenders, this feels like a win for Taylor Swift, Anti-hero. While Taylor needs no help keeping songs alive, The Eras Tour has definitely helped her. Taylor will most likely also take home Song of the Year for Anti-Hero as well.

The Best New Artist category is one of the best we’ve had in years, full of artists who create hits and music everyone sings along to. With Gracie Abrams touring with Taylor Swift, Ice Spice singing along with Swift, Noah Kahn’s smash hit “Sick Season,” The War and Treaty’s tear-jerking performance at the Emmy’s, Jelly Roll smashing it in the country genre, Victoria Monet with a Record of the Year nomination, Coco Jones smooth vocals and Fred again… dance hits, the category is jam-packed with immense talent. Previous winners include Olivia Rodrigo and Dua Lipa.

Producer of the Year will hands down go to Jack Antonoff. He has produced hot song after hit song for Taylor Swift on her newest album, Midnights, which will likely win Best Pop Vocal Album. Other collaborations of Antinoff include Lana Del Ray, whose song A&W will likely win Best Alternative Music Performance.

R&B is having a great year with nominees such as Coco Jones, Victoria Monet, and frontrunner SZA, who will most likely take home Best R&B Performance for Kill Bill, Best R&B Song for Snooze, and Best Progressive R&B Album for SOS.

As the country becomes more and more mainstream, it has artists to thank, such as Luke Combs, Zach Bryan, Chris Stapelton, Kacey Musgraves, Laney Wilson, and many more nominees to thank. Chris Stapleton’s hit White Horse will take home Best Country Solo Performance. Zach Bryan and Kasey Musgraves’s song I Remember Everything will take home Best Country Duo/Group Performance and Best Country Song, along with Best Country Album, in which the song lives. However, a close second will be Bell Bottom Country by Lainey Wilson.

Aside from winners, The Grammys is always a beautiful night celebrating artists of all genres. Regardless of who takes home the most sought-after trophy in the music industry, at the end of the day, nothing brings people together as music can, and that’s why these artists do what they do.
