GTL: Christian Cowan’s Fall 2024 Show With TRESemmé

On Sunday, Christian Cowan held his New York Fashion Week show at the Harmonie Club, and TNB went backstage to experience all the hair and makeup styling.

Global lead Smashbox artist Lori Taylor Davis curated all the makeup looks for the show. Davis has worked alongside Cowan on several past season shows.

For Fall 2024, Davis emphasized that the makeup is mostly simple but includes a few gems along the eyes and heavy blush.

On each mirror, the makeup look is laid out on paper with a message from Cowan reading, “The look is ‘Mob Wives,’ but not really ’cause SHE is not the wife. She is the BOSS.” That sentiment was apparent in both the makeup and hair.

TRESemmé hair artist Justine Marjan made use of wigs and big pin-up curls to encapsulate the femme fatale vibe. Marjan said,

“The inspiration for this look is expensive with a sense of luxury and confidence. The hair is polished, coiffed, and structured with a classic set and then brushed out.”

Each model’s hairstyle is specifically tailored to their hair type. Models with kinky or curly hair were allowed to sport their natural hair in more of an updo than wearing one of the wigs. Mousse provided a necessary grip to keep the hair slick and stuck in place beside intricately placed pins.

The ‘Polished Sophistication’ styling added to the complete look of the show’s dazzling designs. In all, the Christian Cowan show paid great tribute to the women of upscale New York City who are independent, trailblazing, and stylish.
